TBX Jazz Bass Prewired Control Plate complete with genuine Fender® TBX tone pot. This is the Tone Merchants modern take on the classic 1980’s TBX wiring made famous by Duff McKagan of Guns n Roses. With orange tone capacitors for the treble cut, ceramic tone caps for the bass cut & Switch Craft jacks. A Tone Merchants TBX Control Plate has everything loaded ready to be installed into your current Jazz Bass with only one solder connection. No modifications to your bass needed.

All of our Tone Merchants harnesses and control plates are hand made in Tennessee, USA. Using modern PTFE coated wire, Fender® TBX tone pot, CTS volume pots, and a metal film .047uf tone capacitor. It includes Kluson knobs and a #11 Switchcraft output jack.

We provide clear instructions on how you can install a jazz bass control plate. Every wiring harness come with leads for you to connect the wiring of your pickups to. Then you do not need to solder directly to the pots, risking overheating the them.

What is TBX wiring?

Traditional tone pots give you a range from 1-10. A TBX tone pot will give you a treble and bass boost while remaining a completely passive instrument.  Your standard tone control goes from 1-5 and from 6-10 is where the TBX kicks in. Giving you more treble and bass to your tone. The Fender TBX tone pot is stacked and dented so you can feel when changing over from your standard tone control in the 1-5 range, through to the treble and bass extender in the 6-10 range of your tone pot. This decreases resistance, sending more bass, treble, presence and output to your amp.
