Featuring a Nordstrand 51P4S hum-cancelling, split coil pickup with something no one has ever done before. A 51P wiring harness using a genuine Fender TBX tone pot. Used on the made in Japan Fender Boxer series in the 1980’s & made famous by Duff in all the GnR records. A TBX tone pot gives you everything you had before, but with much, much more.

Note, some Squires. Sire Bass and others that are made in Asia may not use CTS size pots. If that is the case you may need to increase the size of the hole for your pots on your control plate.  this can be done by a tech that’s doing the install. If you prefer a fully wired control plate this can be done for an additional cost to cover the plate and knobs.

Nordstrand 51P4S Tele Bass Pickup

Nordstrand 51P4S Hum Cancelling Tele Bass Pickup is a split coil version of an original P style pickup. It delivers all of the same great vintage tone, but allows for a quieter operation via its hum-canceling split coil. Just as is expressed in the tonal nature of its brother, the 51P4, you can expect this pickup to emit a revery of thump and slap delineated through the silent void of its effervescent hum buck. This split coil P provides an even further choice in original P-style customization, giving the player more options in carefully designating their bass with a tone that is precisely in line with their aesthetic.

Tone Merchants TBX Wiring

TBX P Bass Wiring Harness complete with genuine Fender TBX tone pot. This is the Tone Merchants modern take on the classic 1980’s TBX wiring made famous by Duff McKagan of Guns n Roses.

Made with high quality components including a genuine Fender TBX tone pot. A 0.047uf Mylar Film Tone Capacitors. Switchcraft output jack and Teflon insulated wire. This is my modern day take on an 80’s classic found in the made in Japan Fender Boxer series.

What is TBX wiring?

Traditional tone pots give you a range from 1-10. A TBX tone pot will give you a treble and bass boost while remaining a completely passive instrument.  Your standard tone control goes from 1-5 and from 6-10 is where the TBX kicks in. Giving you more treble and bass to your tone. The Fender TBX tone pot is stacked and dented so you can feel when changing over from your standard tone control in the 1-5 range, through to the treble and bass extender in the 6-10 range of your tone pot. This decreases resistance, sending more bass, treble, presence and output to your amp.
