Nordstrand NP4-A is the product of the Nordstrand’s original angled pole piece design. Fused with the simplistic yet throaty and aggressive tone inherent to the P-bass style. The result of this combination produces a vibrational luster that is resonant of all the best aspects of precision-style playing; but is then able to go above and beyond the traditional P Bass Pickup with its hard hitting, note sustaining integrity that administers a voice that will carry your sound farther than any standard P could ever dream. A passive tone knob thrown in conjunction with this pickup will reveal an unrelenting and dynamic spectrum of midrange versatility, divinely blending the pickup’s full-bodied bottom-end with its rippling, staccato highs. Alnico V magnets are warmer with a softer character. Think of them like a 60’s J style sound taken even further down the warm and fat path. Alnico III is brighter, cleaner and punchier, and will have a more wiry, stringy character.
