Nordstrand Cat Bass V2 is a retro, slightly odd, deceptively menacing and freaking cool instrument. This is the V2 models that features three single coil proprietary pickups from Nordstrand.  We have one in stock now in Black with a Parchment Pickguard and White Pickup Covers.

Now with three single coil pickups and the addition of a tone control knob. The Nordy Cat V2 is quite a different monster to it’s first incarnation, the V1 Acinonyx Bass.

With all of the playability and phat tone you would expect from a short scale, plus the added fun of the pickup selection switches. You can choose any combination of the three pickups on their own, in conjunction or all together in serries mode for something really special.

Proprietary single coil pickups, no surprise, made in-house by Nordstand Audio. Giving you a wide range of tone shaping options.

Custom Hipshot tuners with a 1 over 3 headstock may seem unusual, but it provides straight string pull while honoring the original aesthetic of the Goya Panther. Hipshot also provide the custom bridge, all in a dull metal finish matching the tuners.

Product Description

The V2 Acinonyx bass features 3 classic style single coil alnico 5 pickups utilizing our innovative push button pickup switching system. This system utilizes individual on/off switches for each pickup allowing any combination desired. The fourth switch is a series modifier which puts the middle pickup in series with either of the other pickups. Add in a .1mfd tone control(extra dark roll off) and the available tones are thus rooted firmly in the massive fat punch of the OG Acinonyx. But the three single coil platform explodes the tonal palette with rich detailed open and soaring vintage character. Explore the V2 “Cat Bass” today!

I can't tell you enough about how Brad helped me out of a jam, I was on tour recently in NZ/AUST with LIVE - (Bass Tech) and I had a tuning peg get damaged in transport and Tone Merchants were the only dealers on that side of the world with the peg I needed. Brad was so fast with an email response and express shipping of the peg I was back up and running with in a couple days. After doing plenty of hunting for a replacement bridge for my Rickenbacker bass i stumbled across Tone Merchants.
The communication back and forth while i waited for the import to arrive was great.... Prompt shipping to me in Australia at a very reasonable cost!
The tone, playability and most of all functionality of this upgrade is second to none.

Legendary. Great advice from Brad regarding modding options aswell as a wicked service in the explanation as to what each can do for your tone. The concentric knob control plate was simple to install, looks amazing on the US Fender and with the series/parallel switches my tone control is spot on.
