Description
Tokai PJ Bass TPB55G made somewhere between late 1982 to mid 1983 by one of Japan’s greatest instrument makers, Tōkai Gakki. This is a fantastic gigging bass in B+ rank condition with only very minor surface scratches and rub marks. Alder body, painted (black) maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and matching headstock. Spec’s like this are very hard to find in modern new instruments and is why I’m personally a massive fan of made in Japan lawsuit era basses.
All original gold hardware that has been cleaned up and looks the biz. Pickups are also original and sound great, with a good growl and plenty of low end. Would perform well in a rock or Motown gigging band. At only 4kg, it’s comfortable to play for longer periods of time and has great balance.
