Starting waaay back in 1913, brothers Emilio and Olinto Mari left their family string making business in Italy to carve their own future in New York. Initially working from their apartment, their strings quickly became well known for their quality amongst local musicians in the area. The brand name “La Bella” was then first used in 1927 for their line of orchestral strings. Later becoming the brand name for all strings made by E. & O. Mari Inc. In fact E. & O. Mari Inc remains one of the oldest incorporated family owned music string manufacturers in the world.
