Tokai Hard Puncher P Bass 1980 – Vintage MIJ Lawsuit Bass
Tokai Hard Punchers are some of the best Lawsuit Era basses you can find. And this one is true to form will all original 1962 Fender Precision Specs. If you are not familiar with “lawsuit era” basses and guitars, go look them up. Arguably as good, if not better than many of the USA made Fenders produced at the same time, before CBS sold Fender in 1984.
With the Tokai “spaghetti logo” that was used up until 1982 (when they got sued by Fender), these are not very common and highly collectable. Especially in this condition and finish.
Alder body in a white vintage finish that has really stood up to the test of time and black pickguard. With a Rosewood fretboard and fantastic maple neck that is a pleasure to play. Just has that great chunk but really playable feel of a classic 1-3/4 inch at the nut, C grip neck.
B to B+ rank condition. There is the usual tarnishing on the hardware to be expected. No ding, dents or marks on the front of the body. Only a small crack in the finish at the neck plate on the back. Some marks on the bottom, side under the output jack. Logo on the headstock has slightly rubbed off. Aside from that, in amazing condition considering it’s 42 years old.

Izak –
Silky smooth bass to play! neck and body have a slightly different balance to a standard P-bass as the body is a bit lighter, but still doesn’t neck dive at all. Hard Puncher is a perfect description of the tone, it cuts through like a knife, even with flatwounds.
