Description
1970s Fresher P Bass with a couple of little upgrades to make this ready for you to turn into your own P bass monster.
Fresher are one of the lesser know manufacturers from Japan that operated in the “lawsuit” era of the 1970’s to early 80’s. The bass is not all original, so ideal for someone wanting a mod platform or a workhorse gigging bass. When it arrived we found the wiring kit inside was shot. So have replaced this with a brand new Emerson P Bass wiring kit, complete with their vintage paper and oil tone capacitor. The tuners are all original and are great copies of the Fender style vintage tuners of that time. Control knobs and bridge are also not original, but replace with quality components.
B++ Rank for the year. The body hardly has a mark on it and is in amazing condition for it’s vintage. So too is the neck and Fresher have a good reputation amongst those that have used them for having a great, stable neck. Truss rod is healthy, moving in both directions and achieves a low action. Truss rod access at the heel of the neck, stock standard in 1970’s…. So many big brands are still slow to adopt this. It’s also quite light weight for the year, only 4kg and compared to some of the Ash body basses made at that time, that’s light.
