Jazzmaster Pickups are often seen as the iconic sound of “Surf Music” from the 50’s and 60’s. However the Jazzmaster Guitar has been favored by players such as Nels Cline, Tom Verlaine, J Mascis, Courtney Barnett, Johnny Marr, Elvis Costello to name a few. And i think it’s safe to say Dinosaur Jr break that stereotype of Jazzmaster Pickups only being able to capture that “surf” sound.
